Year 2008 has seen the emergence of many new artists, namely French ones like Marc Antoine, Pauline and Zaho.

Nevertheless Zaho remains the most incredible one, may be because she was seen as someone who would never dream about a Singer’s Future! Zaho comes from Algeria where she lived till the age of 18. In such countries it is often impossible to dream about a future in the Pop World. Zaho started her journey at the age of 7, her dad paid her a some music courses and then on she developed this love for Music.

At ten she was already able to play most of well known French singer Francis Cabrel’s songs. She mentions being the only girl from the neighborhood who played Guitar and even play football with boys. Zaho is from a Middle Class family, her mum used to work as a teacher. Zaho’s inspiration was mainly derived from artists like Idir and Tracy Chapman. Today listening to her songs gives us evidence, by which she was influenced, later on however it was more focused on Rap artists like NTM and IAM.

Destiny’s smile arrived in 1999 when she moved to Canada, Zaho was continuously asking herself what is she supposed to do in life and one day it was the answer that everybody knows today, singing! Zaho rapidly integrated Studios and her mentor was and stays the French producer Phil Greiss. Her songs did not take too long to reach France and the pace at which she is writing new ones is incredible!

Why Zaho succeeded where others had failed is mainly in the way she works, she looks for the difference rather than trying to be like other artists. She creates her own style by mixing diverse styles. Even in her dressing we are surprised, never seen before. Her songs are also that very emotional, with words that comes from the heart along with classical instruments like Violins. A song that has caused a lot of emotions remains ‘Tout ce temps’ along with Idir, Both by the voice, organic Zaho claims and the initial of the song.

Stay tuned for more Incredible Songs to come!

This is Part Three of the some of the Best Rock Ballads of the 70's and 80's.

Being that I was born in 1977, I still was able to experience these songs with my parents and friends. It brings back nostalgic feelings of times in my life that were substantial.

Sit back, relax, and grab a cup of coffee and reminisce about the past.

Eye of the Tiger: Survivor

"Eye of the Tiger" was written by the request of Sylvester Stallone for the film Rocky III. The song topped the Billboard charts for 6 weeks in 1982. This rockin ballad also hit #1on the Australian, UK. And Irish charts followed by a Grammy award and a People’s choice Award for “Best New Song”.

Come Sail Away: Styx

"Come Sail Away" was one of Styx biggest hits when released in 1977. It hit #8 on the Pop chart when it was released. Ironically, the lyrics were inspired by J.R.R Tolkien’s, “Lord of the Rings” book which was later written for the screen as one of the popular Trilogies in history.

Fly like an Eagle: Steve Miller

In 1976, “Fly Like an Eagle” was realized which was the highlight of Steve Millers career. Fans gravitated towards the melodic sounds and started following Miller all over the country, especially when he toured with the Eagles in 1977.

Black Water: Doobie Brothers

I Will Do Anything for Love: Meatloaf

“Is this Love” was the band's only #1 single on the Billboard charts in the U.S. "Is This Love” also reached #2 on the U.S. singles chart.

We are the Champions: Queen

Keep on Loving You: Reo Speedwagon

"Keep On Loving You" is a rock power ballad which, in 1981 hit the #1 spot on the Billboard chart for one week, and peaked at #7 on the UK chart.

What’s Love Got to Do with It?: Tina Turner

"What's Love Got to Do with It" was a track on Tina Turner's breakthrough solo debut album, Private Dancer. "What's Love Got to Do With It" is debatably Tina Turner's most admired and successful single, becoming her first number-one hit in the United States and establishing Tina Turner as a mainstream Pop and Rock artist.

Burning Heart: Survivor

19 Songs Defined by the Piano

Here are 19 songs that feature the piano and especially stand out personally.

Joe Jackson: Steppin' Out

Timeless, well-written and one of understated brilliance. Joe Jackson created an unforgettable masterpiece. Steppin' Out was written with the intention of giving you the feel of a 24-hour day-in-the-life feel of a modern day Cinderella and was filmed at the St. Regis Hotel in New York City.

Sarah McLachlan: Angel

Sarah wrote this song in only a few hours with keyboardist Johanthan Melvoin of the Smashing Pumpkins in mind. He died of a heroin overdose in 1996. Angel is a poignantly moving account of the intense emotional struggles we all share at some time in our own lives. It was featured in the film "City of Angels".

Kate Bush: This Woman's Work

An amazingly talented artist that is unique and highly influential to many aspiring writers. This song was specifically written for a movie titled "She's having a Baby", as if looking through the eyes of a man who feels agonizingly helpless as he waits, not knowing if the woman he loves will survive the uncertainty of a complicated delivery.

Journey: Don't Stop Believing

One of those monster hits of the 1980's that actually stuck. A classic that was featured in popular shows like "Scrubs", "Family Guy" and the film "Monster". Also "Don't Stop Believing" was used in the final episode of the Sopranos, when Tony hit the jukebox in the final scene, while the show faded to black. Ending the best scripted and most successul HBO series' during 2007.

Coldplay: Clocks

A song about the intensity of inner turmoil. This song feels as though it transcends real time and can lead to a state of pure calm, at least for me. One of the best piano riffs ever.

Guns 'n Roses: November Rain

MTV provided endless airplay of this epic big-budget video that was painstakingly written by Axel Rose. Pouring rain, a romantic wedding and finally a heart-wrenching funeral provided the perfect backdrop.

The Boomtown Rats: I Don't Like Mondays

Bob Geldof wrote "I don't like Mondays" after hearing the news in a local radio station while doing an interview. The song goes on to describe the mindset of a 16 year old girl, Brenda Spencer, from San Diego, who chose to skip school but return to her high school, to aimless open fire with a loaded rifle killing 8 and injuring many, and preceded to lead the police into a standoff. When finally asked "why", she was quoted "I just started shooting, that's it. I just did it for the fun of it. I just don't like Monday's."

Marc Cohn: Walking in Memphis

Carly Simon originally discovered Marc Cohn and soon after won a Grammy for best new artist in 1991. "Walking in Memphis" was written by Cohn after watching an inspirational sermon give by Al Green. A song dedicated to the kindred spirit he felt to a beautiful city and paints a portrait that takes you along on a vivid journey.

The Fray: How to Save a Life

Isaac Lad, lead singer of the Fray, wrote this song about the helplessness he felt when working at a camp for at-risk youth and the many complexities of what they had to deal with. "How to Save a Life" started out a bit obscure when first released, but when it was featured in the introduction to the new season of "Grey's Anatomy", it soon gained momentum and quickly climbed the charts. This song gives a voice to so many people who struggle with painful experiences from a loved one's suicide to problems of drug addiction.

Five for Fighting: 100 Years

A song that condenses 100 years of living into a personal reflection of just how important it is never to take anything for granted. It probably helps to be a little older and wiser to truly appreciate the magnitude of it's message. The piano use in this song is especially pure and incredibly sweet.

Fleetwood Mac: Sara

Stevie Nicks wrote "Sara" in 1978 with her close friend at the time of the same name. One of the more mainstream songs to come from Fleetwood Mac's "Tusk" album and a favorite of their millions of fans. When Stevie Nicks finally decided to enlist the help of the Betty Ford Clinic for her addiction to cocaine, she signed in using the name "Sara". Many believe this song to be about drama filled romance with Don Henley and the loss of their unborn child. Haunting, poetic and deeply personal.

The Beatles: Let it Be

Paul McCartney was inspired to write "Let it Be" after his mother Mary passed away when he was only 14, and later played this song at his wife Linda's funeral. Paul also wrote "The Long and Winding Road" on the same day, talk about a bolt of inspiration. John Lennon supposedly didn't like "Let it Be" due to it's subtle religious undertones, but Johnny Cash claimed it as one of this favorite songs. A song that's brought so much comfort to many in their saddest and darkest hours.

Supertramp: Goodbye Stranger

Some say it's a song about marijuana and some believe it to refer to finally ending the circuit of meaningless one-night stands, whatever the case may be, the use of electric piano here is awesome. One of those tunes that's hard to get out of your head and Supertramp's "Breakfast in America" was an overall brilliant album.

Queen: Bohemian Rhapsody

Bohemian Rhapsody is one of those songs that has been almost impossible to figure out. Translating the specific meaning has never been accomplished and really doesn't seem to matter. It's been quoted as being basically "random rhyming nonsense" but also one of the most complex. Queen enjoyed conquering a whole new audience when it was featured in "Wayne's World" and was re-released in Freddy Mercury's honor after his death in 1991. The song hits on so many different levels of emotion and is often referred as one of the most unique in style.

Elton John: Your Song

Elton John's very first single to hit the music charts and the first to co-write with his life-long writing partner Bernie Taupin, who was only 17 at the time. "Your Song" has been performed at every Elton John concert since. It's one of the most simple and nostalgic love songs ever written and one of the most covered songs.

Billy Joel: Piano Man

Billy Joel wrote "Piano Man" from his own experiences working at a high end piano bar early in his career. He usually saves this song for his encores when touring and is probably most identified with it. Paul McCartney was once quoted saying that this is the song he would have most liked to have written. A sad song about regret of not having accomplished more in their lives, and the patrons only true happiness is found at the end of the day in a bar.

John Lennon: Imagine

John Lennon poses the ultimate request to the world. Imagine a place where no material, religious or cultural differences existed. Lennon was said to have written this song on a brown Steinberg piano, that George Michael purchased for 2 million dollars. He later donated it to the Beatles Museum in Lennon's hometown of Liverpool. "Imagine" stands the test of time and surprisingly was Lennon's most controversial hits.

Jerry Lee Lewis: Great Balls of Fire

A writer mostly connected to Elvis Presley, Otis Blackwell, wrote "Great Balls of Fire" for Lewis. Unfortunately, the song made it's way to airplay around the same time Lewis decided to marry his 13 year old cousin, Myra Gale Brown. Once public knowledge spread, Lewis fled England, where at the time he was working and returned to the United States. Through all the crazy happenings, you can't deny, this is one of the best uses of a piano in a song.

Stevie Wonder: Living for the City

The hardships of a poor young kid trying to find a better way moving up to the big city of New York, only to find a life lost to drugs and prison. Ray Charles covered this song, and so this is an especially favored piano song. In 1974, Stevie Wonder won a Grammy for best song in the Rhythm and Blues category.

11 Mildly Amusing Country Song Titles

Get Your Biscuits in the Oven and Your Buns in Bed

You definitely don't want to get this one mixed up! If you do you'll end up in a sticky situation, and more than likely with crumbs in your bed sheets.

Wouldn't Take Her to a Dog Fight, Cause I'm Afraid She'd Win

Aaw, how terribly poetic.

I Fell In a Pile of You and Got Love All Over Me

This one's actually kind of sweet… in a completely bizarre, slightly gross sort of way. Ah well, you've gotta take what you can get these days where romance is concerned.

Liked You Better Before I Knew You So Well

This one's not so much funny as frighteningly accurate methinks. Come on, I'm sure everyone has experienced this at some point in their lives! You get to know someone… and realise you really don't like them quite as much as you thought you did.

I Just Bought A Car from a Guy That Stole My Girl, but the Car Don't Run So I Figure We're Even

This one made me chuckle an unhealthy amount! It's actually a little piece of genius, don't you think? Or maybe I just need to get out more? Hmm…

I Would Have Wrote You A Letter, But I Couldn't Spell Yuck!

The best thing about this one is that he obviously CAN spell "yuck", because it's right there in the title… Unless he looked it up in a dictionary after he decided he couldn't spell it, just so he could write this song… Actually, is the word "yuck" even in the dictionary? Ok, I've been thinking about this way too much.

You're the Reason Our Kids Are So Ugly

And who said romance was dead?

If My Nose Was Running Money, Honey, I'd Blow It All on You

Again, the sentiment is rather sweet… it's just a shame about the choice of metaphor! On the one hand I'm thinking "aaw, bless, that"s quite cute!' and on the other I'm thinking "uh, could you just not use a tissue instead?"

I've Been Roped and Throwed by Jesus in the Holy Ghost Corral

Talk about a bad day!

I've Been Flushed from the Bathroom of Your Heart

And we're back to the toilet humour! Hmm… I'm honestly not sure what to think of this one… I'm leaning towards wondering whether hearts have bathrooms, but I know how utterly ridiculous that sounds, so I think I'll just back away slowly instead…

Ever Since I Said "I Do," There's a Lot of Things You Don't

Yet again, more painfully true than anything else, I suspect. Funny though… especially if you start wondering if the "things you don"t' are actually listed in the lyrics… I'll leave you and your favourite search engine to find that one out, shall I?

Top 30 Elvis Songs

“Wouldn't it be great if Elvis was still alive and all his impersonators were dead?” - George Carlin

This week marks the thirty-first anniversary of Elvis Presley's death. He died in Memphis on August 16, 1977. He was only 42 years old.

It's hard to believe that the little boy who won a talent contest at the age of eight, by singing “Old Shep”, would have turned into such a music icon.

He sang in high school shows after learning how to play the guitar. Before his stardom, Elvis worked as an usher and a truck driver, following his graduation from high school.

He was signed to Sun Records in 1954 and then to RCA in 1955. According to Billboard magazine, Elvis reached the weekly Top 40 charts 107 times; a record that still has never been broken. Of those 107 trips to the Top 40, eighteen of them went to the number one spot.

Below is a list of Elvis' thirty biggest hits:

Chuck Wicks' Stealing Cinderella.

I know I haven't done my music reviews in a while, but that's because I have been looking for unique artists worth profiling. In my search I have come across a man by the name of Chuck Wicks. He has a single out that would grab the heart of anyone who has ever had children getting married. The song is about a dad reluctantly giving his daughter away to the man of her dreams.

It is also the story of two different point of views, one of the dad, the other of the groom-to-be.

In the dad's eyes the daughter will always be his baby girl, the child he watched grow up all those years. To the groom-to-be she is the Woman of his dreams, the heartbeat of his very soul.

When I heard the song, it really struck a chord with me, it gave me a new appreciation for what parents go through. Realizing their children are growing up and that they have to let them must be really hard. I am not yet a parent myself, but I can honestly say my heart goes out to them.

Be proud of the young adults your children have become, trust them to grow up and make decisions for themselves. Pray they'll make the good decisions and put them in God's hands.

With that said I'd like to share the song.

Here it is ladies and gentleman "Stealing Cinderella" by Chuck Wicks. I congratulate him on being a superb singer and hope to hear more heart reaching music from him in the years to come.

10 Most Ridiculously Annoying Songs That Stick in Your Head But Still Make You Happy

This is a personal list so, I am aware in your eyes there are hundreds of song like this. I have just compiled a list of my most annoying.

Euro trip: Scottie doesn't know

I was forced to go to this movie with my fiancé and his son but, I'm glad I was. The movie is like Chevy Chase in European Vacation only more vulgar and geared towards a younger generation. I love it! Matt Damon makes a special cameo appearance. Check it out.

Music and Lyrics: Pop goes my heart

Ever since I saw this movie, I have to watch this video at least once a day. It's hilarious and Hugh Grant is actually singing.

Macarena: Los Del Rio

I think I heard this song over a hundred times an hour when I was on spring Break in Mexico. Not only did I do the dance every time it came on, I actually knew all of the words when I came back home.

Wannabe: Spice girls

All I remember is dancing around in the Sorority house when I was getting ready to go out and party. It was a girl power moment!

Barbie Girl: Aqua

Imagine driving down the road on your way to Spring Break. Need I say more?

I would walk 500 miles: The Proclaimers

This is a song that repeats its verses over and over and over and over again. I guess the new age groupies loved this one. It was shortly lived but, it still shows up on the Internet everywhere you turn.

I'm too sexy: Right Said Fred

Alright, this one I just can't complain about. I remember listening to this song in high school during talent shows. The football players actually dressed up and performed the whole video. Quite controversial at that time.

I wanna love you tender: Ohjaaja Mervi Vesala

This looks like a 70's workout video. I actually, at one point, got up and started dancing. I just couldn't help myself.

Hamster Dance

As annoying as this was when I was in college, I just couldn't stop watching it.
Imagine a dancing rodent taking on a new identity all over the internet. Whoever came up with this must be a millionaire or they may be coming up with something new like a dancing skunk. Oh wait, that's been done already!

Jump in my Car: David Hasselhoff

The "Hoff" has tried to capitalize his fame on Baywatch for years now. His biggest mistake was taking it to the music industry. He was very big Germany but, his music never was serious enough for the states. It still makes me laugh though.

Five Music Artists to Fall in Love With

Here's a recent list of some of them:

Carla Bruni

Not only is she absolutely beautiful, her voice is full, rich, soft and just simply lovely! Interestingly, if you don't already know, Carla Bruni is the First Lady of France and to name a couple of her past beaus she has dated Donald Trump and Eric Clapton. In the 90's she was also one of the highest paid models earning approximately $7.5 million dollars!

Minnie Driver

I was stunned to discover that this talented actress was also an extraordinarily talented singer. She sings with passion and a hopeful beauty that is intoxicating and caresses the soul.

One of my favorites by her is called “Deep Water”.

Peter Yorn

…”Ice Age”…wow, what can I say about this one? Breathlessly beautiful, phenomenal, a piece of heaven at it's finest. I'm guessing this song was made for the movie, but I am not certain since I never saw the movie. Nevertheless it is one of the most beautiful new songs I've heard in awhile.

You will want to fall in love with this one at, but unfortunately the YouTube version it is just not audibly good enough to leave a link, I just don't want to ruin the song for you and if you are interested, I recommend clicking into iTunes store to get a sample. The short little sample clip was enough to make me fall, instantly.

Brianna Taylor

This new artist was recently an unforgettable roommate on “The Real World's Hollywood” cast. She began pursuing her singing aspirations on the show and to the complete surprise of everyone belted out beautiful ballads like “Summertime”. I can't tell you how many times I've listened to this song. One day, I picture myself singing this at an audition for “American Idol”.

Secret Surprise!

And, lastly, this song is for all the eternal romantics!

A 25-gospel Rhythms Countdown

I See the Lord

The definition of this song is one of deep encounter with the Lord. To see the Lord is to picture the Lord with profound eyes. Whenever this song is played, I look into the firmament in which I was born and see the Lord. I notice His garment filling the entire temple. Words cannot express the depth of what I am envisioning. As the verse states, “And the whole earth is filled with His glory”, I just want to melt down with shouts. This song made it in my top twenty-five.

Yeah, yeah, yes His whole world is filled with His glory. Yeah, yeah, the whole world is filled with His glory.

Come, Jesus, Come

There is nothing better than calling Jesus into your life. I have gone through trials and tribulations and all I want is the presence of the Lord. It was not easy to bring up four children alone. Mustering come Jesus come is making every attempt to get Him to show up. I want to be filled with His presence. I anticipate His coming but today seem to be the day when He should return. I want Him to restore His kingdom especially when everything is rocketing sky high in prices. It feels as if it is the end of the world. I want His return so I can shout, “Come Jesus comes, as we await your return”.

Oh Jesus, Jesus, we are your children. Oh, ooh, Jesus, I am one of your children. Come and rescue me.

Who Is Like The Lord?

I know I cannot sing but I can dance and this is one song I would definitely apply three steps to. The gist is, although I cannot sing, I always give it a try on this song. “Who is like the Lord the One who ….” The emphasis I placed on each word is unbelievable, it make my daughters laugh. I made sure every word is panted out from the bottom of my soul. This is one song you can practice on to fine tune your voice and God loves it too.

Yes Lord, give it to me Lord because there is no one like you. Show us your glory Father Yahweh eh, eh.

Fill This Place

This song is one that is requesting a true encounter with your God. It is like addressing the lover of your life. Singing this song is like making a spiritual connection with your true love. A married couple needs to apply this song to their life. The words express it exactly as how it should be. Listen to the words, “I'm here to meet with you come and meet with me. I'm here to find you reveal yourself to me”. Your relationship should be one of a blissful moment and so should your relationship be with the Lord as well.

Rock it to me Lord. Rock it to me Lord as you reveal yourself to me. I love You and I need You, Lord.

T'is So Sweet To Trust In Jesus

Having full knowledge of Christ is filling your soul with sweetness. It is so sweet to know you can trust in Him. It is so sweet to trust and know that He died for our sins. It's like having your older brother takes the blame when your mother returned home and asked who eat all the cookies and you said not me. She immediately assume it is your older brother who is not home to defend himself. She took you at your words. Well, you can take God at His word and rest on His promises. It is really sweet to trust in Jesus.

Eh, eh, eh, sing it to me Lord as it is so sweet to trust in you.

Holy, Holy, Holy, Holy

This song repeats the word holy five times just to emphasize the magnitude of God and His holiness. The lamb being above all and is supreme. There is no substitute to His majesty. The angels honor God singing holy, holy, holy, holy, unto God. It is good to follow after the angels and honor God too with the same words. Make known God's holiness.

Holy, holy, holy, unto the Lord God of Israel. I sing holy unto your name. Yeah and yeah as I sing holy to Your name.

His Holiness

You ought to give to the Lord as He is the Mighty One. You ought to serve Him with all glory and strength. If you give to God all the glory with all your strength, don't be surprise as He will bless you. All He needs from us is all the glory due His name. Take time to worship the Lord in the beauty of His holiness.

Let me give You praise Lord because You are the only One who deserves all the praise because of your holiness.

Nothing But The Blood

This song starts with a question that already has an answer. The question is what can wash away your sins and it supplies the answer nothing but the blood of Jesus. There is no other answer although some may say there are five possibilities to a question. In this case, only the blood of Jesus can wash away your sins.

Even if you asked the question again and again, the same answer would apply. God knows what it would require to cleanse man from their sins. He sent His son Jesus to do away with our sins. The song is of redemption. Jesus blood is the redeeming sacrifice to wash away our sin. This song is a must to be song at any liturgy.

Eh te, eh te, eh, eh, nothing but the blood of Jesus.

Again I Say Rejoice

The words of this song, “Come bless the Lord come bless the Lord, draw near to worship Christ the Lord”, say it all. I find this song very difficult to sing but I enjoy it so much that it is highly ranked about my best of gospel songs. I enjoy a very solid voice echoing this tune. It starts out high on a high note and ends on a high tone and the higher one gets singing this song the better it becomes for the soul. It reminds me of the excellence of the Master. We ought to bless His holy name yes His holy name and declare His goodness. If I ever take voice lessons, maybe I will be able to manage this song.

Yes Lord, I really want to bless you, Lord. I really want to bless you, Lord. Eh, eh, eh, Lord.

Revive Us Again

This song may have stemmed from the revival movement across the country when men felt the urge to worship God. When singing this sing, one is required to dip low, stamp your feet and swing the arms from down and across you face. Yes, this is a dance step but this is how one will react to this revivalist's rhythm. It is a time to give God glory especially when one receives a blessing. The words, “Hallelujah thine is the glory”, is assurance that only God can get such glory. Yet at the same time you want God to keep on reviving you so that the soul stayed in melody for Him. The word amen at the end of the verse is certifying to awesomeness of God.

O'my, o'my, Lord, is you going to revive me again Lord? I want your grace.

Open The Eyes Of My Heart

The metaphor used in this rhythm is very deep. How can God open the eyes of your heart? Your really don't have eyes in your heart to be opened but if a person gets the meaning, he or she is well on their way to have a Christ-like spirit. The need to be softened and asking God to open the eyes of your heart is asking to be compassionate for others. The song then continues wanting to see God more or less Christ in all their doings. This song is a blast and I enjoy it very much when it is played. I rock my head and I mumbled it through at church. One does not have to repeat the verses but recollect the resonance of each word.

O, yes, it is you again, O' Lord, open my hearts so I can see you.

I Will Exalt The One

The choice to exalt the One who is the Maker of the universe is one of the best of choices. What one can say, but to honor God. The words in this song are giving a person the ability to recognize the Savior as He deserves everything one has to offer. The comparison that there is no gold, no precious pearl or nothing on earth that compares to the Lord. With such powerful words, the most one can do singing this song is to give it all. The rhythm goes on and on with words such as, “Lord here I stand with empty hands”. Oh, what a note full of humility, is a reminder to give the Lord all.

Oh Yah, Oh Lord, Yah, I will exalt the One that is higher than everything.

Wonderful Merciful Savior

Wonderful merciful Savior is a reflection of God's grace. He is the precious Redeemer and the best of Friends who would have thought that a Lamb such as Christ could rescue the souls of men. Jesus came into the world to rescue the souls of men because men are sinful beings. This song ranks high on my list because if it wasn't for Jesus dying on the cross and bore my sins, I would have been a lost one. I just have to remind myself of the wonderful merciful person Jesus is to me.

Aah, Lord, aah, release me from my pains oh wonderful and merciful Savior.

Only You

This is a song that must be song in tabernacles or churches. Coming to God and expressing oneself shouting no one but you Lord can satisfy this longing in my heart. If you ever feel any type of loneliness, here is a song that can uplift your spirit. The song begins in a low and slow tune giving one the chance to cling to God. The song also demands one drawing near to God so that he or she can be filled and be satisfied.

One more time Lord, I want to hear from You Lord and only you, King of this universe.

Trust In You

If your faith is low, here is a song that can build up your faith. God has always been and He will always be faithful to His words. When you cry out to God and your heart is overwhelmed, He will hear you. Just don't give up. You just have to hang in there to what you are believing in. He will come through for you. He came through for me and I know He will come through for you. Keep on singing and better yet keep on dancing. He has always been, and He will always be faithful”.

Come Lord and bless us as we trust in You and only You.

I Believe

When God is calling you and you respond, you are scheduled for a blessing. The rhythm stresses the first word just to allow the momentum of being important. The Father recognizes that He needs a servant. This song is one of my favorites knowing that God needs man. The words begins by saying you are calling me. These are powerful words as God needs your help, and whenever you respond, you make a remarkable response by saying you have touched my soul. You continue to let God know how broken your heart is and only Him can make you whole again. I love this song.

Hallelujah, hallelujah, Lord, I believe in Christ and I love You. Yeah, yeah, I love you Lord.

Come, Now Is The Time To Worship

Come now is the time to worship is a plea from God. It is a time to give your heart to Him. The verse is repeated three times just to get one to respond to His call. It is always time to worship the Lord. Even though we are consumed by work, family life, and God you know what, it is always time to worship and praise the Lord. The word Come at the beginning has a rumbling sound to it. It has that punch effect as if it making a demand. I love it for it easy beat and a good song for anyone who want to sing along with the choir.

Come Lord, this is the time for you to refresh my heart. Come now Lord, this is the time as I worship You.

Refresh My Heart

It is good to ask God to refresh your heart and renew your love. It is easy to fall out of love for God especially when a major heartbreak kicks in. But having knowledge of the Master and knowing that He is God in spite of everything, you will be able to ask for forgiveness and have Him refresh your heart. I love this song because it is easy to sing. The tone is moderate and the beat is easy to catch on to.

Amen and amen to the God of Israel as He refreshes my heart. I love You Yah, the God of Glory.

Soon And Very Soon

This soon and very soon song has a rocking beat to it. It is one that will have you moving on your feet. Just to be decent and not wanting to shake too much, you let the rhythm ring out of your heart but it is very difficult for me not to move and rock to the beat. After all, I am praising God and having a glorious time. It should not matter how I am reacting to the song. This song is a reminder that the Lord will come soon.

Glory, Hallelujah, and amen. Glory, for You are coming very soon.

My Joy

The quick beat and high note bring joy. What a joy for the Lord to take your mourning into dancing. As the song moves its rapid repetition, a person feels relief of any grief. This song reflects on God's goodness for eradicating any problem in life. This is a song that calls for a strong vocal just to move rapidly along from verse to verse. It is a joy to know God can do the impossible.

Ata Adonia, ata Adonai, I want more of your joy.

You Are God

To know God is to know the power that lies within you. This song brings to remembrance the awesome power and glory of the Majesty. He is God of the highest mountain and God of the deepest sea. His love is great for you so why not worship Him. This is a moment to reflect on His total power and love. This one is ranked high on my list and this song calls for respect for the Master.

Give it to me Lord, Give it to me, eh, eh, give it to me, love, peace, health, and wealth as you are God of the highest mountain and God of the deepest sea.

Beautiful One

One just has to sit back and cling to the words of this song. The song tells how wonderful God is and God unfailing love. It continues to rant on how the cross has spoken mercy over us. We may not understand fully why God made the choice to pour His love over us as He did when He had Christ died for us. All we can do is accepted the fact and that is what that made it wonderful.

Glory, Lord, glory, Lord, eh, eh, make my life complete in you eh, eh glory, glory, glory.

God of All

Sing God of all is like singing a catchy little song. The words are light and easy. All short notes with a swinging tune. We have come to praise you and lift your name on high. It is saying God you are all. The song moves on by repeating the first two lines, but to make it more meaningful, one should repeat the first two lines seven times for a blessing. God is all and of all in all the earth. Let's lift His name on high above everything. He is worthy. A person can sing this song while driving to work in his or her heart.

God of Heaven, you are exalted. I come to you in brokenness. You are my King.

Lord You're Beautiful

When singing this song, the emphasis is on the word Beautiful. It is telling the Lord how beautiful He is. All one needs from this song is getting a connection with Jesus. His face is what one wants to see. The tune is light and does not require a strong voice. The words are an act of humility and require God's attention. But in order to get God's attention, give him worship. True worship is the focus for God to be on you as a child. The lyric moves on and on and ends with such fine words, “Your grace abounds to me”. It is an excellent tune and about to be my best.

Lord, you are beautiful; your face is all I see. Oh, yes Lord, your face is all I see.

Great is Thy Faithfulness

Do not sit back and allow the choir to take all the blessings that come with this song. This one is a power house and is a favorite among churches. Great is God's faithfulness is the epitome of this song. Such words, blended with the tune, are doing a cleansing of the soul and breaking down the barrier between man and God. The heart is opening up and what is coming out is true worship. At time, the laity will stand in reverence whenever this song makes it on the church selection for that day. God forever will be as He is the Creator of this universe. Besides, the words, the tune is excellent and is very effective in softening the heart. The church can experience miracles during the chanting of this song. It is my number one choice.

Yeah, yeah, hallelujah, hallelujah, great is God's faithfulness amen and amen.

15 Metal Songs That Deserve Your Attention, Even If You Don't Like Metal

Now before I get started I just want to say that these songs are picked by me. I mean, I'm not saying they are the best that the metal-scene has to offer, but they are well worth listening too. I also don't want to fire up a debate on which band is metal and which is not, you will find Nu-metal bands in this list, if you're not OK with that, don't rant, just ignore them. The order of the songs listed in this article is not from best to worst or vice versa, I'm using a self created play list that mixes songs and bands. There will be a couple of bands that will have several songs in this list. This list does may not the so called “classics”, and that's on purpose. For you people out there who don't like metal : I'd suggest you give these a try, especially the instrumental songs, and let them remove all prejudices about metal being meaningless noise!

Chances are that I will make a new list soon, possibly inspired by the comments given on this article.

I'll first give you the title, followed by the band and the album. There is a possibility that these lists will contain errors and flaws. For that I'm sorry, but I do hope you'll take some time to check out some of the songs in this list. Keep it metal!

Beg For Me: KoRn, Issues

Some say KoRn are not metal. I personally believe they are. This song is one of the best gig-openers this Nu metal band has to offer. Although the chorus and the title might seem a little megalomaniac, the song really is about letting yourself go on the stage (of life), leaving your problems behind and just let it roll. One of the best lines in this song is “ Who gives a f***, if my life s****, I just know one thing, I won't give up.” The song ends with a fragile “be there for me”. Jonathan Davis, the singer of KoRn, has a rather large register, and in this song he switches from a loud and primal chant to solid on tone voice. I'm a fan of KoRn, this is one of my favourites. In this line of KoRn-Crowd-teasers I would also like to recommend “it's on” from their album “Follow the leader”.

Prayers: In This Moment, Beautiful Tragedy

Female metal vocals! Not in a Night wish kind of way, but in a rather rough form switched with more delicate moments. (think of Guano Apes, but in my opinion a little rougher with better guitar sound). I discovered this song by listening to a radio show, I listened to the entire show again just to pick out the title of this song. “ All I am, all I have, leads me down this road again.” The Prayers in this song are unanswered, and the “the time has come for me to say goodbye” may sound a little emo, but this metal sweeps up the blood and the singing is good, so again, I think this song is well worth the listen. I would also recommend “ beautiful tragedy” , the title song of the album.

Thunderhorse: Dethklok- The Dethalbum

A (more or less) instrumental song by a Cartoon-band. Dethklok is a band of 5 twisted that get into all sorts of adventures, involving death and destruction. They get away with it just because they are the greatest band in the world. The man behind all of this is Brendon small, a man with some serious guitar skills. The best line in the song is “ Thunder…horse…revenge!” but that's already half of the lyrics. It made me think of Blind Guardian, with a little more rough edges, which is a good thing for yours truly.

Lies: KoRn, KoRn

Yes, I know, the second time KoRn makes an appearance, but this song is different to the one I posted before. This song is rough, it's primal, it's brutal. There is a second voice in this song ( Jonathan, the lead-singer, grunts through most of the Chorus) performed by Brian Head Welch, who left the band recently for religious reasons. The guitars are perhaps a bit repetitive, but it adds to the rough impression. For all who think KoRn is too soft to be metal, give this song a try. This sound is a main line throughout the entire album, I recommend Blind ( the KoRn Breakthrough song) if you like this. Best line in this song in my opinion is “ I like to search inside for the things that you will hide. What's the problem? Can't you seem to search through these problems that haunt and taunt you” followed by a creepy “I smile, while you're afraid

You run, while you're soul pays”

Confined: As I Lay Dying, Shadows Are Security

A switch between brutal verses and a cleanly sung chorus. I haven't got much to say on this song, except that I like it and that it's one of the most played songs in my list. Favourite sentence “what have I learned from yesterday?”, a nice way to start the day.

Shadow and Dust: Herfst, Life's End Design

Herfst is a Belgian band, and this is my favourite song of theirs. This is probably the band with the least fame in this list, but I personally believe they are worth the listening. The guitar-sounds are dark and gloomy and the voice leans towards grunt ,comparable with My Dying Bride in the rougher bits. “Shadow … and… DUUUUSSST” really puts up quite an effective metal-line. Most of their songs are long, as it should be.

Let the Tempest Come: Neaera, Let the Tempest Come

A fast, grindcore-like song. If you know the band then you're bound to know this song. It fits in the line of In Flames and As I Lay Dying, they have some pretty strong songs like “definition of love” and “Hibernating Reason.”, with a lot of bridges and instrumental bits and pieces. Grunts and squeals throughout most of the songs, this won't please you when you're not into metal

“These Wounds Won't Kill Me
They'll Make Me Grow Inside
I Will Try to Use Them
And Wear My Scars With Pride”

The message is dark but in the end it turns out rather positive in Metal terms.

Take This Life: In Flames, Come Clarity

In Flames is a familiar name through out most of the metal-scene. The intro is pretty fast with raging drums, but the song suddenly makes a more melodic turn. Strong lyrics, strong instruments, strong voicing… Again, one of my favourite songs in the list. “take this life, I'm right here, stay a while and breathe me in”. Love? It could be. “these thoughts burn a hole in my heart” From this band I would also like to mention “Dead end” and “The Quiet Place”, this last song being softer and easier for non-metal-fans to listen to.

With Trees: Korpiklaani, Spirit of the Forest

Folk…metal! Korpiklaani has a lot of jolly swing beer-songs like “happy little boozer” and “wooden pints” but I have chosen a more serene and darker song for this list. The voice is enchanting, the tunes are soft and make you drift… hard to not forget that this is metal as well! It's nice to get into the Nordic feeling, with a strong pint in your hand and a pipe in the other. “ I'd rather fly with the eagles through the snow”. He probably meant some other type of bird, but it sets the image. The intro is long and instrumental, very calm and soothing even. “Running with wolves” is a similar song, also worth a try.

Catherine Blake: My Dying Bride, Songs of Darkness Words of Light

A dark and Gothic, a long but probably lesser known song by My Dying Bride. The song switches from style from time to time, from a doom-like beginning to a more melodic piece, followed by a darker, grunting, rougher bit. The switches work well with me, and I always listen the to the full song (it's 6 minute and a half long, which is longer than most popular songs, but short by My Dying Bride standards). The lyrics are dark, the singers voice is agile from grunt to fragile. “ Catherine smiled, took a fabulous breath of summer air, and tasted death”. The setting is that of an apocalypse, with an epic battle between heaven and hell, sung with various voices. “what did the Almighty know?” Probably that this is a great song! Also suggested: “She is the Dark” and “The Raven and the Rose.”

Beyond the Ice: Blind Guardian, Follow the Blind

Instrumental song, Blind Guardian at their finest. Although the voice of Hans Jürgen Kürsch is one of the strongest elements in Blind Guardian (in my opinion that is), this instrumental song could interest both metal and non-metal fans. If you want to take time to listen ( 3m31s) to what sound you can create with a guitar, I'd suggest to give both this song and “Thunderhorse” by dethklok a try. If you wonder what Blind Guardian sounds like with vocals I'd suggest “the Bard's song” and “Valhalla”. Most songs are inspired by fantasy-writings, and fantasy-fans among you may know the Lord of the Rings-songs that Blind Guardian has made. If not, search Blind Guardian and Lord of the Rings on the internet and have a listen.

Cry of the Blackbirds: Amon Amarth, With Oden On Our Side

A little bit of Viking Metal in this list to make an even bigger choice for you. The lyrics are inspired by the Norse Mythology and the band-members of the band do look like the Viking Archetypes. This song might make you want to go horseback riding with an axe in your hand, but that can be a good thing too, right? “charge your horses a crossed the field…” If Odin (usually spelled with an I, but the band uses an e) is on your side, than Amon Amarth might provide you with a war-chant. “Death in Fire” and “Runes to my Memory.

Black Widow: Children of Bodom, Hatebreeder

Children of Bodom- love it or hate it. Alexi laiho , the front-man of this metalband, is an idol amongst many of the female and male metal-heads (for his looks and his guitar-skills, I'll let you think of what fits where) and COB enjoys a strong reputation. This song is not as known as follow the reaper or angels don't kill but it's one of my favourites. The guitars-riffs and keyboard-sounds are brought forward hear in a couple of instrumental bridges, it has a nice swing to it. I didn't pay much attention to the lyrics.

Everything Ends: Slipknot, Iowa

Perhaps the most flamed band in the metal-scene. A lot of people hate slipknot, although I think most people do it because they follow other peoples opinions or they just don't know slipknot all too well. It's not their roughest song, and you can actually sing along. It has a lot of “anger” which is typical of most Slipknot-songs ( such as “Wait and Bleed” and “My Plague”) and sometimes they just seem like angry masked teenagers, but it's a nice song if you wont to get pumped up a little. “I haven't slept since I woke up” seems a bit of a logic statement, but the full sentence is “I haven't slept since I woke up and found out my life was a lie”. If you think Slipknot is all about screams and anger, go look for “vermillion part 2”.

The Crying Orc: Burzum, Aske

Instrumental song by Burzum, one of the oldest and darkest metal-bands there is. The guitars are inspiring, the setting is dark, and you don't have to listen to the singer, who does not have the best voice to listen to in my humble opinion. I don't have much more to say on this song, except that it might make you want to try out more stuff from Burzum, in which case I would suggest “Dominus Satanas” and “My Journey to the Stars”.

This is all for now, I hope you checked out some of this stuff, if you did, comment below. I'm open for other suggestions for my next list!
