Top Seven Singers with Their Power Belting Prowess in Their Lung-Busting Songs

Most people can't do what these singers can.

There are many singers who can belt out but only a few give a quality performance. Here are some of the singers whom I feel would fit in the title of this article.

Mariah Carey

It is without any doubt that Mariah has already proven her ability to hit whistle register notes. She has a 5 octave vocal range starting from G#2 to G#7. She is now known to be the biggest selling female artist of all time after she beat Elvis Presley with the most number of number one singles in America.

Regine Velasquez

She is known to be the Asia's song bird because of her ability to hit very high notes without struggling. Miss Regine is a Lyric Coloratura Soprano with a voice range of 3.5 octaves starting from C3 to a whistle note F6. There are many great videos of her, but I picked that video because it shows how good she is in handling high notes despite her bad condition. In this video she was having a sore throat, but she was able to belt a G5 from her song "What Kind Of Fool I Am”. Just listen until the last note of her song and you will really be amazed.

Whitney Houston

She is a legend considering the fact she has a vocal ability to hit high notes and she is also part of those black women who have made it in the industry of singing. She is a dramatic coloratura soprano with her range starting from C3 to C6 (3 Octaves). Although she was alleged on many issues she stands strong again today after she got back from rehabilitation. She divorced her husband and again gained parental control with her children.

Patty Labelle

She is known to have a high range reaching C6 which is in the 5th octave if I am not mistaken. She cannot whistle but the way she belts her notes is completely remarkable.

Celine Dion

She is really a diva considering her vocal range and also her accomplishments. She is a Canadian singer who got a successful career in America. Dion had first gained international recognition in the 1980s by winning both the 1982 Yamaha World Popular Song Festival and the 1988 Eurovision Song Contest. She is credited by some sources to have 5 octaves but it is yet to be confirmed. Her lowest note is Bb2 and her highest is C6.

Sheryn Regis

She may not be known to you, but she is one of the best singers I"ve heard in my life, she can belt high notes just like the Philippine's Asia's Song bird Regine Velasquez. She is nicknamed as the "Crystal Voice of Asia" after a winning a contest which include different countries from the continent of Asia.

Cheryl Coko Clemons

Her vocal range is very wide; she can even hit a whistle note in her songs. She is a gospel and an R&B singer. She is credited with 6-8 octave vocal range, although it is not verified, you can already hear on that video the way she belts her song. She first broke up with her band "Sisters with Voices" but then reunited after many years.

What can you say after you have heard them all? Do they really fit the title of this article? If you have a different list, don't be shy to share it. Thank you and God Bless!

Singing runs in my family. My grandmas was a opera singer on the radio and I have sang on stage before so I really enjoyed this article.

Great singers. Great article...

For me personally, Regine would be the greatest singer among of them because despite the fact she has severe sore throat, she can still belt out the same high notes that she usually sing. Secondly, she is already 40 years old, and normally at that age, humans voice would already deteriorate but hers didn't yet. :)
Thanks for those who have commented.
