The pace of life in town and city today, has been characterized as rush, rush, and more rush to do more and more things in as short a time as possible, undeniably this situation has caused us not being able to enjoy life fully. Here, songs play a vital role to comfort the vulnerable spirit, conflict and turmoil in everybody's heart.
Good songs not only entertain to hear, but also a good therapy to relieve stress and agony of life. Nowadays, songs have a role to play in almost every sphere of human activity. What better thing than good songs do we have to sit down and reminisce on once in a while? Indeed, the songs are there every day for us to behold and all we have to do is to listen attentively.
Yesterday Once More - The Carpenters

Yesterday Once More: Memories of the Carpenters and Their Music is one of my top favorite songs. It was written by Richard Carpenter and John Bettis which turned out to be a hit song from an album of Now & Then. The lyrics left you a marvelous memory of being young. All ages from the young till the old like to listen to this song. I highly recommend this song for an English beginner learner as its English lyric is easily to understand. Additionally, it has a very beautiful rhythm which shows the beauty of art. You can listen to the song of Yesterday Once More here.
When I was young
Id listened to the radio
Waitin for my favorite songs
Waiting they played I'd sing along
It made me smile
Those were such happy times
And not so long ago
How I wondered where theyd gone
But theyre back again
Just like a long lost friend
All the songs I loved so well
(*) every sha-la-la-la
Every wo-wo-wo
Still shines
Every shing-a-ling-a-ling
That theyre starting to sings
So fine
When they get to the part
Where hes breakin her heart
It can really make me cry
Just like before
Its yesterday once more
Lookin back on how it was
In years gone by
And the good times that I had
Makes today seem rather sad
So much has changed
It was songs of love that
I would sing to then
And Id memorize each word
Those old melodies
Still sound so good to me
As they melt the years away
Repeat (*)
All my best memories
Come back clearly to me
Some can even make me cry
Just like before
Its yesterday once more
Right Here Waiting - Richard Marx

“Right Here Waiting” is my favorite English song, too. It is a ballad recorded by Richard Marx which hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100, and number two in the UK. It was also placed as the top of Billboard's Hot Adult Contemporary Recurrents chart from 2000 to 2003. Indeed, I prefer to keep my ears to listen to this song over and over during my pastime to entertain myself. I believe that this is the most enduring song after its release for so many years ago. You can listen to this song here.
Oceans apart day after day
And I slowly go insane
I hear your voice on the line
But it doesnt stop the pain
If I see you next to never
How can we say forever
Wherever you go
Whatever you do
I will be right here waiting for you
Whatever it takes
Or how my heart breaks
I will be right here waiting for you
I took for granted, all the times
That I thought would last somehow
I hear the laughter, I taste the tears
But I can't get near you now
Oh, can't you see it baby
You've got me going crazy
Repeat chorus
I wonder how we can survive
This romance
But in the end if I'm with you
I'll take the chance
Oh, can't you see it baby
You've got me going crazy
Repeat chorus
