Music is one of life's simple pleasures. It can enhance almost any experience. The only problem with music is the people who sell it to you.
Music has evolved from a form of enjoyment and a career for musicians to an industry that is controlled by sixty year old men in $6000 suits sitting in their wood-paneled offices atop of billion dollar skyscrapers. What do these guys know about music? They know how to promote music, how to record music, and how to sell music. They don't, however, know what music is.
Music should be something that everyone has a different opinion about. But, for someone to call almost any song on the radio today music is preposterous. It is over-produced, repetitive crap made by a person chosen for their looks and not their talent. It is garbage. The music company executives think that if they can numb the general population's creative minds they will be able to sell more. They promote music that is the same as last weeks hit. If you are not given a choice, what else are you supposed to listen to? Once you start hearing enough of it, you start "enjoying" it.
The record companies have made it near impossible to make it as a musician if you are not following their rules and signing their contracts. All they care about is how much they will gross that year so they can buy that new million dollar yacht they want. All this is going on while the musicians producing legitimate music are left out in the cold (sometimes literally) .
I propose anyone who wants to stop the tyranny of the large record companies stop listening to the radio, and stop buying music (unless it is directly from a musician). Do not support the record companies, they don't care about you, or anyone except themselves.
