This is a great list. Thanks for sharing.
#2 by Songza, May 11, 2008
How about Songza.com. By far the best of the bunch. Bigger library than the others -- 28 million!
#3 by lautlautlaut, May 11, 2008
Poorly selected list, there at least 10 better sites with free (& also downloadable) music sites out there.
#4 by Sickr, May 11, 2008
Uh, I seriously think you forgot to add The Hype Machine ;)

http://hypem.com/
#5 by ben, May 11, 2008
What about Muxtape.com? You can't pick whatever you're going to listen to but there's a lot of great stuff on there
#6 by Gavin, May 11, 2008

I agree with lautlautlaut. One really good site is Grooveshark: http://grooveshark.com
#11 by collegegirl, May 11, 2008
The author of this is obviously not in college. Otherwise, Ruckus.com would no doubt be #1. My friends all over the country download free music legally, as do all of their classmates. All you need is an address with .edu
#12 by Jennifer, May 11, 2008
musicovery.com
check it out!

and Ruckus is amazing, but like someone said, you have to be in college to use it.
#13 by Heidi, May 11, 2008

To download live shows go to archive.org and look for the live music archive...you can find alot of good bands that are down with putting their shows up/having them recorded for fans to listen to for free.

Also if ur a Radiohead fan radiohead-notforprofit is a great site for their live shows.
