You managed to miss the biggest web2.0 music site, imeem.com.

well technically it got a mention under freemusiczilla, but imeem really deserves a number of its own. It's basicly youtube for music; upload and share music from your favorite artists.

Someone tested the availability of music on imeem against other free sites like deezer, spiralfrog and last.fm - imeem was almost twice as good (which probably explains why it's so popular)

Don't forget
http://www.mybloop.com

People are uploading their entire music collections there. They also allow uploading big files of any kind. Music can be organized in folders and playlists. Music can also be embedded to other sites.

You should include it on your list.

we really need two lists - one for the legal sites like Spiralfrog, pandora, imeem etc and one for the 'unlicensed' sites like dizzler, muxtape, deezer etc
#25 by Roxan Finnell, May 9, 2008
Good list of resources.
#26 by Anon., May 9, 2008
Another site to mention would be www.musicovery.com - I love trying out new music with this. Pumps out a lot of related artists and even *attempts* to conform to your current mood. Radio-like service though, so no downloads. Always there if you're wanting to listen though, free site, streaming audio, definable quality (I *think*).

Dudes nice post! I use Pandora all the time but hadnt heard of some of the others.

But what about LIVE music??

You should put in http://gruvr.com - easy way to discover new concerts right next door.

anyway im stumblin this

musicovery.com is also very good.
#32 by Chris, May 11, 2008
You miss Last.fm and Jamendo.com. The first is probably THE music social website out there, certainly much more relevant on a global scale than Pandora, especially as the latter has now restricted access to US citizens only. The second is an invaluable tool for finding Creative Commons Licensed music, which is legal to download freely, as well as allowing to directly support any artist on there, and it has some really good stuff.

Jamendo is fairly obscure, so I can understand missing it, but seriously poor show on missing Last.fm. Feel like doing more research next time?
