The Effect of Music

Music and it's effects on our everyday life.

Music. What is music? Why do we like it so much, and what does it do for our lives? Well, join me as I delve into that very subject. What exactly does music do for our lives? In High Schools, the student body tends to call those in musicals gay or uncool. Yet when the time comes for people to sign up for a musical, they stampede to the auditions. I just saw Ragtime, and it really affected me.

The whole play, I was in a state of awe and wonder. Music opens up the creativity of the soul and brings out the best in all of us. Music relaxes us, nourishes our needs, even improves our health and affect our behavior. You can observe this in plant life, for it seems that plants that are always in an environment where music is playing seem to grow larger and healthier than other plants of the same species.

Music has always been a big influence on our lives, past and present. Many people often claim that their preference of music is better than others. Country instead of Rock. Heavy Metal instead of rap. Pop instead of show music. But it doesn't really matter what music you listen to, as long as you listen to it. When you really listen to music, no matter what it is, nine times out of ten it will sound great all the same. The effect of music on our lives is a mystery, one that is still being explored, but whatever it is, take comfort in the fact that it is positive.
