Review of a Simple Plan and Sum 41 concert that I attended

Hey. This is a record of what I remember from the Simple Plan concert that my cousin and I went to tonight. A lot happened, so don’t expect everything to be all in the right order. But I'll try my best.

The Concert was In Stratford Ontario. About an hour and a half of driving from where I was in Hamilton, Ontario I couldn't wait to get there. I can’t quite remember what time we left, because we spent a lot of time trying to get a camera to work, and get some film and batteries. Finally we were ready to go. I was wearing my favorite Simple Plan t-shirt. I had a Camera, two rolls of film, and loads of batteries. I had to take extras because the batteries weren't new. They could wear out anytime. And I wanted loads of pictures of Simple Plan.

The drive wasn't too bad. We had to find our way there, because we were never there before. So we weren't bored. We kept a constant lookout for signs and I was following a map that I had printed off on computer. We passed through a lot of farms, which most of you might think is cool because you get to see horses, ponies, and cows. Yeah, I saw all of that, but there was a disadvantage too...There was the strongest smell I had ever smelled. The place was full of horse manure. It was all you could smell. And it STANK!!! Ha. Finally we reached Stratford and followed the directions I had printed to get to the Box office. When we got there, we bought the tickets and asked where the concert was. They told us how to get there. When we got there, my aunt dropped us off and my cousin and I walked up to the lineup. We were a nice ways behind, and because we only had general Admission we figured we would be far away from the stage too. It was around 3:30 pm then. They said the Gates would open at 4:00. I didn't know how long I would be before I could get to a washroom, so I decided to let my waste out while I had a chance. I'm not exactly sure why I said that, but it’s okay.

When I returned, I noticed that one of the other line-ups were broken because some people were standing a little out of line chatting. I told Curtis to follow me, but he wouldn't, so I told him that if I made it up there without getting told off, he was to follow. He agreed, I made sure nobody was watching and I made my move. I walked over to the broken line-up without acting suspicious, and I just stood there where it was broken, without looking back or even acknowledging that I had butt in front of someone. After a few minutes without getting told off I finally turned around and nodded for Curtis to follow. Then I turned back to the front. A few seconds later, Curtis shows up behind me and taps on my shoulder.

We were a lot closer to the gate now, so we just stood there and waited. The gates didn't open at four. Curtis and I were getting really thirsty. Finally at five to five, the gates opened. We presented our tickets and got a wristband that showed we were aloud in, and ran for the drink stall...As much as we wanted to get close to the stage, we had to get a drink. After we got our drinks, we ran for the stage. We did okay. We weren't too far behind. We were just about five or six feet from the gate around the stage. We just stood there debating on whether or not we should push our way to the front or not. We finally decided to stay where we were. We were in a good spot anyway. We waited there until around 6:30 or 7:00, I’m not sure which. Finally it started. There were loads of people there by that point. A local band started off. They were good, but they didn't have a singer. They just played music. They played three songs and then they announced that they were just starting out in the music business. They claimed that they were expecting to have a CD out by the end of October or November. Then they sang one more song, which the lead guitarist said was dedicated to his brother who couldn't be there. After they were finished, the announcer came on stage and said that there would be a little change of scene now. He told us to just relax for a bit, and them Sum 41 would be out. The cheer that followed was deafening.
