So what defines the term "rock chick" or "rock diva"? These women have a certain nouse that fits their often outrageous yet stunning looks and personality, not to mention a fantastic, unique singing voice that they have evolved into the metal rock genre. Often these ladies are the leaders of some wildly extrovert and alternative bands who end up sulking in the shadow of their iconic lead singer.
For your listening and viewing pleasure come "arguably" the greatest modern rock divas of all time.
Amy Lee (Evanescence)

This gothic beauty shot to fame with her band Evanescence in 2003 with the release of their debut album Fallen and top 40 single "Bring Me to Life" which featured on the blockbuster movie Daredevil featuring Ben Affleck. Gwen Stefani (No Doubt)

Deborah Harry (Blondie)

Often mistaken for the band's name, Deborah Harry was the queen of the rock airwaves during the 70's and it was with Blondie's third album Parallel Lines that they reached cult stardom. The single "Heart of Glass" managed number one in both the UK and USA and Deborah Harry was propelled above her male counterparts to stardom creating a rift in the group to the point where Blondie split in 1982.
Stevie Nicks (Fleetwood Mac)

Still cranking out their massive array of rock tunes today, Fleetwood Mac were often over shadowed by their blonde bombshell Stevie Nicks and the love quadrangle she seemed to be responsible for within the band. Their greatest album, Rumours, produced legendry rock anthems like "Go Your Own Way" and "Dreams" and still grace radio airwaves today.
Joan Jett (Joan Jett and the Blackhearts)

'Bad Reputation' was not so much an attribute of Joan Jett but one of her smash hit rock ballads alongside her band The Blackhearts during the 1980's. Her leather clad look and the awesome power ballad "I Love Rock n Roll" ensured her place in rock history.

Noelle LeBlanc (Damone)

Who? The largely unknown underground band Damone has not quite reached Hall of Fame status but their front woman sure can sing. After a scratchy teen styled debut album in 2003, their second album Out Here All Night managed a couple of songs on some well known console games including Project Gotham Racing 2.
Hayley Williams (Paramore)

Bursting onto the emo rock scene in 2007 with the hit single Crush Crush Crush off the album Riot!, Paramore are headed for great heights thanks in part to the astonishingly gritty voice of vocalist Hayley Williams. She oozes enthusiasm and is being compared to Garbage's front woman Shirley Manson.
Courtney Love (Hole)

Hole were nominated for a number of Grammy's from their album Celebrity Skin in 1999.
Shirley Manson (Garbage)

Shirley Manson's airy style gave Garbage a relaxing sound with a hint of power about each of them. The 42 year old recently landed the role of Catherine Weaver in the new television series Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.
