This song has everything a great song requires depth, passion, emotion. I like it, because it's not too polished which gives it a quality few songs have these days. It has pure unadulterated raw emotion. This song engulfs the listener, allowing the audience to feel, to be moved the with all the intensity that a song should evoke.
My favorite line is
"Don't tell me if I'm dying, 'cause I don't wanna know
If I can't see the sun, maybe I should go
Don't wake me 'cause I'm dreaming, of angels on the moon
Where everyone you know, never leaves too soon
Do you believe, in the day that you were born?
Tell me, do you believe?
And do you know, that everyday's the first of the rest of your life?"
Those are very thought provoking lyrics to me, I know songs are often left to interpretation and mean different things to different people. What I get out of the song is to live every day with fervor as if it will be your last. I also take it to say not to fear your own mortality, but to be thankful for every breath you are given.
I also take it to mean that we all go through tribulations and tragedies, but it's the small, seemingly trivial things that often actually turn out to mean the most. I hope in writing about this song from my personal viewpoint, and giving my interpretation, that I have given you something worthwhile.
Something to think about, thank you for reading. The song can be found at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S38-mjy5NtA
